Heavy-duty K and X catalog gateway

Find Cummins KTA QSK ISX engine parts while keeping the V-engine K platforms separate from inline-six ISX, QSX and X15 platforms.

This is a heavy-duty catalog gateway, not a claim that K and X engines form one interchangeable mechanical family. Select the correct route below, then confirm the ESN, CPL, complete model suffix, application and removed-part number before purchasing.

Cummins KTA QSK ISX Engine Parts: Select K or X Before the Component

K, KT and KTA Route

K19/KTA19, K38/KTA38 and K50/KTA50 cover large V-engine platforms with model- and rating-specific fuel, turbocharging, cylinder and accessory configurations.

QSK Route

QSK19, QSK23, QSK38, QSK45, QSK50 and QSK60 are not one size. Identify displacement, electronic generation, application and exact configuration.

ISX, QSX and X15 Route

These are inline-six 15-liter-class highway or off-highway platforms with generation-specific fuel, turbo, electronic and emissions components.

Model route Application context Required fitment evidence
K19 / KTA19 Industrial, generator, marine and heavy equipment variants with different ratings and accessories. ESN/CPL, full suffix, pump or injector number, turbo tag and application.
K38 / KTA38 Large V12 platform; naturally aspirated, turbo and aftercooled descriptions must not be collapsed. Exact model and rating, cylinder-bank component details, old part number and photos.
K50 / KTA50 Large V16 platform with application-specific fuel, cooling, exhaust and accessory equipment. ESN, installation type, duty/rating and individual component identification.
QSK19–QSK60 Multiple displacements and cylinder configurations under one electronic high-horsepower prefix. Full QSK model, CM/control generation, ESN, application and part tag.
ISX / ISX15 Highway and related installations with generation-specific fuel, VGT and emissions systems. ESN/CPL, model year or emissions generation, ECM/CM and component number.
QSX15 / X15 Off-highway, generator, marine or highway variants require application-specific verification. Full model and rating, control generation, turbo or actuator number and installation details.
Important: a product title that includes KTA and QSK or ISX and QSX can be a valid multi-application listing. It is not permission to cross-install every part between those engines. Use the published part-number applications and an ESN-based factory check.

Heavy-Duty Parts by System

Injection and High-Pressure Pumps

Identify pump model, control type, drive, ports and timing or calibration requirements.

Injectors and Nozzles

Record injector number, cylinder position if relevant, connector and fuel-system generation.

Turbochargers

Compare turbo tag, air and exhaust housings, rotation, flange, wastegate or electronic actuator.

Cylinder Heads

K/QSK individual heads and X-platform cylinder-head assemblies follow different catalog and installation logic.

Crankshafts

Major rotating components require exact engine, journal measurements, gear details and repair-size confirmation.

Connecting Rods and Pistons

Match rod and piston design, cylinder configuration, bowl or compression details and individual numbers.

Cooling Parts

Verify housing, quantity, opening specification, seal and the equipment cooling package.

Starter Motors

Confirm voltage, mounting, tooth count, rotation, output and whether dual-starter provisions apply.

Overhaul Components

Build the repair list after teardown, measurements and inspection rather than ordering from displacement alone.

The 12 listings below cover K/QSK and X-platform fuel, turbocharger, cylinder-head, crankshaft, thermostat and starter applications. Because this page spans engines from K19 and QSK19 through QSK60 and 15-liter X platforms, the product number and complete application text are essential.

Why K/QSK and ISX/QSX/X15 Must Stay Separate

K and QSK high-horsepower engines include several V-engine displacements and cylinder counts. ISX, QSX15 and X15 are inline-six platforms. The page groups them only because buyers commonly browse them as Cummins heavy-duty engines. Their blocks, cylinder architecture, fuel systems, controls and installation requirements are not one family of interchangeable hardware.

Within the QSK prefix, QSK19, QSK23, QSK38, QSK45, QSK50 and QSK60 also cannot be treated as a single specification. Cummins’ official QSK60 information, for example, identifies a V16 60-liter platform and application-specific electronic fuel and monitoring systems. Use the complete model after “QSK,” not the prefix by itself.

Emissions and Electronic Generation Change the Parts List

On ISX, QSX and X15 applications, the turbo actuator, fuel pump, injector, sensor, EGR and aftertreatment-related components can change by emissions generation and CM family. Record fault codes, ECM information and actuator labels before ordering. Some components require programming, calibration or a learned procedure after installation; confirm those service requirements with the repair manual and technician.

Heavy-Component Ordering Checklist

  • Complete ESN and CPL
  • Full model, suffix and rating
  • Engine application and equipment serial number
  • Removed component manufacturer and part number
  • ECM/CM or fuel-system generation
  • Turbocharger and actuator tag numbers
  • Starter voltage, mount and tooth count
  • Crankshaft journal and bearing repair sizes
  • Cylinder-head casting or assembly number
  • Clear photos showing ports, connectors and housings

Plan Freight and Core Details Before Buying

Cylinder heads, crankshafts, pumps, turbochargers and complete engines require different packaging and freight arrangements. Confirm whether the listing is new, remanufactured, rebuilt or used; what accessories are included; whether a core is required; and whether delivery needs a commercial address, dock or liftgate. In-stock parts normally ship in 1–3 business days. Warranty commonly varies from 3–6 months by product and condition, so use the written quotation as the controlling coverage.

Official Identification References

Use Cummins’ ESN-based Parts Information and QuickServe service-information guidance to confirm the factory configuration. For platform context, see the official QSK60 engine page and X15 engine page. 4BTDiesel products are aftermarket replacement parts unless the individual product states otherwise.
